Northeastern School District's human resources department is responsible for managing the district's workforce. This includes recruiting, hiring, and onboarding new employees, as well as managing employee benefits, payroll, and leave. HR also handles employee relations, ensuring compliance with labor laws and district policies, and supporting professional development. In essence, we are the central hub for all personnel-related matters, ensuring the district has qualified and supported staff to educate its students.

To establish a complete pre-employment file, please complete the online application. Your application will be retained in active status for one school year. If your qualifications meet our needs, we will contact you for further information and a possible interview.
According to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Department of Education School Services Unit, all applicants for employment with public and private schools including student teachers and independent contractors and their employees, must undergo background checks. Act 151 (Pennsylvania Child Abuse History), Act 34 (Pennsylvania Criminal History) and Act 114 (FBI) must be renewed every five years, provided there is no gap in employment with Northeastern School District. Clearances must be no older that one year old from the effective date of hire, regardless of when the employment application was submitted. Costs are not covered by the district.

All employees must obtain, at their own expense, a medical examination and tuberculin test by a physician of their choice legally qualified to practice medicine and surgery or osteopathy or osteopathic surgery in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, or the physician's legally qualified designee. The TB test can be no more than three months old at the time of employment and must prove that the employee is negative for tuberculosis. The medical examination form must be signed and dated by the physician and the employee and can be no more than 1 year old at the time of employment.

Requirements and Instructions
Under Pennsylvania law, ALL school volunteers must meet certain requirements, including those who volunteer in extracurricular activities. Therefore, all NESD volunteers must obtain approval from the Board of School Directors to ensure the safety of our students and staff, and for compliance of the law.

Step #1
Access the below sites to obtain a volunteer clearance.
- Obtain a PA Child Abuse History Clearance
- Obtain a PA State Police Criminal History Clearance
- Obtain a FBI Criminal History Background Check - If you have lived in PA for less than 10 years, you are required to obtain and submit this clearance. There is a small fee for this clearance ($23.25). Use service code 1KG6ZJ. Please note, due to recent changes in legislation, FBI criminal history background checks must be obtained using the Department of Human Services service code (1KG6ZJ). For the purposes of serving as a volunteer, the district is unable to accept FBI clearances that utilize any other service code.

Submit required clearances and completed application packet via email to [email protected].
- Volunteer applications will be reviewed within two days of receipt.
- Volunteer names are submitted for approval to the School Board of Directors following review of the submitted volunteer packet by the Human Resources Department.
